What is Restorative Dental Care?
Any procedure with the aim of restoring your smile's normal function and appearance would be classified as restorative dental care.
By correcting structural issues such as missing or damaged teeth, our dentists can help restore your smile - and your oral health.
The dentists at Centre dentaire Île-Perrot will determine the right restorative treatment option for you depending on your problem.
Root Canals
During a root canal procedure, your dentist will remove diseased blood vessels, tissues and nerves from the interior of a tooth. By removing bacteria and decay, the dentist can prevent infection from spreading and avoid the need for an extraction.
Periodontal (Gum) Therapy
The tissues of the mouth - including the gums, alveolar bone, cementum, gingiva and periodontal ligament - can become infected with gum disease. If the condition is detected in its early stages, preventive therapy will be recommended. Otherwise, treatment methods will depend on the type and severity of the disease.
Same-Day Restorations
Using CEREC® technology, our dentists can create and place porcelain crowns, inlays and onlays in a single dental appointment to help restore your smile. No impressions, no temporaries - just tooth-coloured, metal-free restorations in one visit.
Dental Fillings
At Centre dentaire Île-Perrot, we use composite (tooth-coloured) fillings to fix tooth damage such as a crack or to repair a cavity. These fillings can tolerate moderate pressure from the continual stress of chewing and may be used on front and back teeth.
Dental Bridges
Bridges are natural-looking tooth replacements that are bonded to existing teeth or dental implants to replace a section of missing teeth. Because they are custom-made, bridges are barely noticeable and can restore the natural contour of teeth and the bite between upper and lower teeth.
Dental Crowns
Crowns are porcelain caps that are placed on top of teeth to restore their function and appearance. Crowns are used to attach bridges, cover dental implants or prevent a cracked tooth from worsening. They can also help to restore a discoloured or stained tooth to its natural appearance.
Full & Partial Dentures
Dentures are artificial teeth used to replace one missing tooth or several in a row (partial dentures), or a whole jaw of missing teeth (full dentures). They allow patients with missing teeth to maintain their facial structure and their ability to speak and eat more easily.
Inlays & Onlays
Inlays and onlays are custom-made tooth-coloured porcelain fillings used to fill cavities when a standard dental filling would be insufficient to repair the damage. They are permanently cemented to the tooth as a single piece.
